Spoken word piece inspired by the documentary: "Invisible Children of Uganda"

UGANDA

Pshhhhhhhhhh goes the t.v. as I close my eyes to give me time to think....now im thinking to myself...FUCK....why couldn't this be a dream...hating myself for talking myself into watching my worst dream come to life....kids screaming...kids feedin off of sex, crimes, guns and knives....kids livin not in the safetyness of their homes which are now the total opposite...but livin in the bottom of buildings still finding time to laugh holding back tears trying not to cry...seven year olds, pickin up guns for the first tome but it aint nothin to them; they've been brainwashed to know that it's time for people to die....now they wanna cry....sisters, mothers, brothers and fathers losing their lives to ten year olds turned savaged at five....not knowing why and how they ended up soo thirsty to kill....kids not even of age pickin up bags from the waste usin them as condoms cuz they think that a contaminated bag will prevent a preganancy or a s.t.d. from occurring.....they are much to accustom to the way they live as individuals to even know the responsibilities of parenting...now did i just mention parenting....where are the parents at when their kids are sleepin in the streets?....bein taken to the bushes to be killed?....yup you guessed it..they are either crying over the loss of their child or dieing at the hands of a child..now i've convinced myself that if you have nothing to die for you would have lived a meaningless life....kids dieing before even figuring out what and who it is they would die for....people back at home not giving a shit about the atrocities going on in northern Uganda....living meaningless lives thanking the Lord they live a happy and peaceful life....this aint about how many lives you could live in a lifetime....it's about how many lives you can save...maybe even touch in a lifetime....help be a part of the movement for the people and children of Uganda....
